It Begins Soon: Campout Details May 2-3. Next Bee Festival June 20 + Photo Contest in Manassas

Hello to all!
In less than two weeks, Friends of the Manassas Bee Festival sponsored events begin — and continue to create memories!



1. May 2–3 for The Great Manassas Campout: Camp Under the Flower Moon at Liberia Historic House and Grounds is coming up first.
This inaugural overnight experience blends camping, music, history, and nature.

Arrival can begin at 11:00 AM, check in at noon, and enjoy a 12:30 PM welcome hosted by Theresa Coates Ellis, Patron, City Council Member. Bring your tent, gear, coolers, chairs, and lights—pets welcome, rain or shine, with parking nearby!  Get ready to unplug and reset!

    

The day features historic tours, VA250 living history, pollinator and beekeeping experiences, crafts, scavenger hunts, and nature walks.

Wanted for afternoon: MoreVolunteers to participate in Living History with your own period costumes! Looking to add Crafters, Gardeners, and Outdoor Enthusiasts to participate and lead activities!  Call or text Theresa at (571)247-6729 so we can set up! 

 

The afternoon begins with live local acoustic musicians (William Dodson, Matt Brennan, and Jon Hodge), campfire cooking, dinner, and a magical Flower Moon evening with stargazing, a glow walk, and storytelling.

Sunday morning includes coffee and light breakfast before a 10:00 AM departure.

      
2. Looking ahead, the 6th Annual Manassas Bee Festival returns Saturday, June 20, 2026 (10 AM–2 PM) at the same Liberia House historic grounds. Named one of the top summer events in the region by Washingtonian Magazine, this year brings back crowd favorites plus farm animals and a lively beer garden featuring a special Bee City USA honey brew by Sinistral Brewing Company. Now is the time to secure your vendor space and sponsorship—multiple levels are available to support this growing regional event. Sign up and pay your vendor fee today at ManassasBeeFestival.com.

3. We’re also excited to launch the Wander Manassas250 Photo Contest, celebrating the theme Manassas City Nature and History. Capture the beauty, heritage, and everyday moments that make our community unique—whether it’s pollinators in bloom, historic architecture, or life around town. Submissions are open now, and selected entries may be featured during upcoming events.Thank you for being part of this growing community of nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and local supporters.
